3D Hologram Rocks out in Japan (Video)
How weird is this: one of Japan’s biggest pop stars isn’t even real… She’s a hologram! Yeah, she totally rocks, but really, it’s just unfathomable to me that a person would pay money to see a stage show (a sold-out one at that) put on by a cartoon.
And wait! There’s more! Adrien Chen writes on Gawker about the second computer-generated Japanese star making waves.
This is bizarre.

This is how the sexier R’n’B is becoming: self-destructive, narcotically distant (read: “numb”), coldhearted, and smooth to an inhuman degree. There’s a half-serious, half-joking label for these jarringly unromantic love songs that proliferate on hipster blogs - “PBR‘n’B.”
Also, this cat Frank Ocean is a member of zombie rap skater clan Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. He’s the sweetheart of the bunch. Can’t you tell?

Look, I can’t stand this song. But if you don’t laugh at this video, you have no soul.

Bill Maher and Jane Lynch Give Dramatic Reading of Weiner's Dirty Facebook Messages(via @Gawker)
Bill Maher plays Weiner and Glee star Jane Lynch portrays Vegas blackjack dealer Lisa Weiss. This is a) hilarious b) jaw-drop-inducing, and c) the first uncensored broadcast of the content of Weiner’s X-rated Facebook exchanges. WikiLeaks meats #Weinergate.
Sorry, “meets.”

Why would you name your boat Titanic? That's just stupid.
You’re damn right it sinks. Should’a put money on that one.

HuffPo Surpasses NYT in Traffic
First: WTF, really?? Second: this is a lesson to old-school media and a swift kick in the ass: get your shit together, start using local, crowdsourced bloggers, focus on alternate and easily digestible ways of content distribution, and hire mini-Ariannas who are innovative.

If any of you watched South Park last night did you think that the show had finally jumped the shark? South Park has had its crazy moments and serious moments in the decades run it’s had but for some reason last night felt like it took itself almost too seriously and too flippantly at the same time.
Playing Google
It’s hard to play guitar with a track pad, but I just recorded this on Google’s homepage this morning. In tribute to Les Paul.

Tyler, the Creator of Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All has released another visually enrapturing music video, this time to his song “She”, which features fellow OF member Frank Ocean. Just thought I would keep the hype machine a’spinning, now that TNGG has a stake in the success of these DIY Gen Yers. Also, notice how freaking postmodern Tyler is at the end of the video when he’s all like I KNOW YOU’RE WATCHING ME WITH MORBID FASCINATION and then everyone just starts waving at the camera/viewer.

How to Make a Doll Into a Wine Glass in 23 Quick Steps

A bit late for DIY week, however it’s never too late to jump on a trend that’s exploding in Williamsburg, NYC, right? Apparently these overeducated, understimulated agents of gentrification have now taken to DIY toy mutilation. But hey, doesn’t everyone kinda want their own crunk juice goblet?
